Accumulation Meters: Accumulation Meters only keep track of the total electricity usage. This means that you are charged the same amount for your usage regardless of when you use it. These Meters can have a few different displays, examples below

Interval Meters:
Interval Meters record how much electricity is used every 30 minutes. This means you can have different rates for usage at different times of the day, depending on who you sign up with as your Retailer. For this reason, it is a lot more detailed and there are more incentives to use electricity at non-peak times. ALL Interval Meters are electronic.
Smart Meters:
As of December 2017, all new Meters Installed by your retailer will be a Smart Meter. Smart Meters work in the same way that Interval Meters work which means you have time of use pricing like above
